I. The Center held a meeting to exchange experiences on major projects and held a ceremony to appoint the director of the Institute.

II. Prof. Cai Wen, Director of the Center, and Prof. Wang Runze, Executive Director of the Center, participated in the "Academic Seminar for the history of press policy development of the Communist Party of China".

III. Prof. Cai Wen, Director of the Center, was invited by the center for studies of media development, Wuhan University to give an academic lecture entitled "Editorial Planning and Content Innovation".

IV. Executive Director Prof. Wang Runze attends the fifth and seventh meeting of the Chinese Association for History of Journalism and Communication, and the School of Journalism Communication of Renmin University of China is elected as the unit to be president-elect.

V. The Center held training on the topic of Marxism journalistic views.

VI. The Center co-sponsored the 13th seminar on deep studies in journalism of Renmin University of China: A Study of the Centennial History of the Communist Party of China's News Propaganda.

VII. The Center co-sponsored the 14th seminar on deep studies in journalism of Renmin University of China: "Research on the Development Strategy of China's Digital Publishing Industry under the Trend of Globalization".

VIII. The Center co-sponsored the 15th workshop on innovation in academic discourse system of journalism and communication at Renmin University of China.

IX. Prof. Hu Baijing was appointed as a think-tank expert of Yanqing District Integrated Media Center.

X. Prof. Baijing Hu's project "Research Protocol on the Comprehensive Evaluation of Breaking News Reports of Beijing Municipal Media in 2018" was approved.

XI. Associate Professor Li Qin released the annual report of the Center for National Communication Strategy Research of Renmin University of China.

XII. The project "Annual Public Opinion Consultation and Research Commissioned by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee (2018)" led by Associate Professor Qin Li was established.

XIII. Liu Hongyu published the monograph "The Future is Already Here: Commercial Development and Media Communication of VR".
