Abstract:
This paper is a review of communication studies published in Greater China in 2019. Articles and other publications are selected by eight scholars based on the value of research questions, the solidarity of research methods, the significance of the findings and research innovativeness. Studies are categorized into ten topics: the history of thoughts about communication and communication studies in China, reunderstanding media, media archaeology and knowledge evolutions, space and place in communication, self-disclosure and digital privacy, political economy of communication and digital labor, reexamining classical media effect theories, emotions in political communication, auditory culture, and, the history and memory of the Internet.
