At 9 am on June 9, 2020, the "Media Lecture · Cloud Lecture" hosted by the School of Journalism of Chongqing University was broadcast live at the Tencent conference. The theme of this lecture is "History of Journalism Practice and Construction of Chinese Journalism", which is led by Professor Wang Runze, Executive Director of the Research Center of Journalism and Social Development, Renmin University of China, Vice Dean of School of Journalism, and Doctoral Supervisor, and President of the Chinese Association for History of Journalism and Communication. Chaired by Professor Qi Hui, School of Journalism, Chongqing University.

Starting from the practice of Journalism and the academic process of scholars themselves, the lecture systematically discusses and combs the modern Chinese news media and their cognition and understanding of news value. According to the exploration of Chinese news practice in the past hundred years, the lecture put forward that the news value that Chinese news industry highly values is "communication" and "discussion of politics". This value pursuit is still of reference significance to the practice of Chinese news industry.

Professor Wang, taking Kong Feili's "The call to the soul: the great panic of Chinese witchcraft in 1768" and "Shenbao" as examples, told the truth of news in the history of practice, and proved that the construction of news in practice has achieved the uniqueness of the truth of Chinese news. Therefore, through the study of practice history, we can find that the core of journalism with Chinese characteristics is the determination of value system.

Professor Wang believed that in China's practice, we have our own set of new values that have not been summed up. "In the process of news presentation, selection and construction, China's news actually plays the role of communication, political discussion, propaganda and education, and then a series of value ranking such as truth, freedom and objectivity." Professor Wang showed us several significance of developing the history of journalism practice, which is of great importance to the construction of journalism with Chinese characteristics and helps to establish the Chinese value standard of journalism in the new technology era.

At the end of the lecture, Professor Wang answered the students' doubts and questions carefully, and further expanded and deepened the contents of the lecture.
