School of Journalism hosts the "A Journey to the Roots of the CPC's 100 Years of Journalism" activity, which was broadcast live by ten schools and relayed in the cloud

To welcome the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and to pass on the valuable historical legacy of the CPC's century-long journalism career, the "Return to the Scene of History: A Journey to the Roots of the CPC's Century-long Journalism Career", a joint live event of ten schools initiated and hosted by the School of Journalism of Renmin University of China and the Marxist Journalism Research Center of Renmin University of China, was successfully completed on the morning of On the morning of July 23, 2020, the event was successfully completed on CCTV News Client. Teachers and students of the ten schools carried out a unique on-site visit and teaching activity in the form of cloud relay. This is an innovative attempt by the School of Journalism of Renmin University of China to promote Marxist journalism education activities and explore the construction of curriculum thinking with Marxist journalism as a guide. Today's search for roots is also one of the opening activities of the party's Centennial activities of Renmin University of China.

Jin Nuo, Secretary of the Party Committee of Renmin University of China, attended the launching ceremony of the live event and delivered a speech. She said that the CPC's journalism has always adhered to the leadership of the CPC in press and public opinion work, breathed with the people and progressed with the times, providing strong ideological guarantee and powerful spiritual power for us to carry out great struggles, build great projects, advance great undertakings and realize great dreams. From the founding of Shaanbei Public School in Yan'an in 1937 to the naming of the university by the Party with the word "Renmin" 70 years ago, Renmin University of China has always adhered to the leadership of the Party, upholding the distinctive red gene, and taken a path to develop into a "first-class university with Chinese characteristics and world class" with humanities and social sciences as its main focus. The development of Renmin University of China is a path of "world-class university with Chinese characteristics" with humanities and social sciences. History is the best textbook. In a certain sense, the history of Renmin University of China is a history of the development of Marxism in China. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the naming and formation of the university, Renmin University of China launched a series of activities such as the compilation of the history of the discipline, as a tribute to the centenary of the founding of the CPC.

This activity is initiated by the School of Journalism of Renmin University of China, jointly with the School of Communication of East China Normal University, the School of Journalism and Communication of Nanchang University, the College of Literature and Media of Guizhou University, the School of Literature and Journalism and Communication of Yan'an University, the School of Journalism and Communication of Hubei University, the School of Journalism and Communication of Southwest University of Political Science & Law, the School of Journalism and Communication of Shaanxi Normal University, the School of Journalism and Communication of Northwest University of Political Science and Law, the School of Journalism and Communication of Hebei University of China and other nine journalism schools across China. Nine journalism and communication colleges across China, including the College of Journalism and Communication of Shaanxi Normal University, the College of Journalism and Communication of Northwestern University of Political Science and Law, and the College of Journalism and Communication of Hebei University, combined with local red cultural resources, and "returned to the scene of history" in Shanghai, Ruijin, Zunyi, Yan'an, Wuhan, Chongqing, Xi'an, Xibaipo, and Beijing, respectively, in accordance with the development of the journalism of the Communist Party of China in the past century. The "Journey to the Roots" is a journey to the historical scene in various forms.

As the final stop of the "Roots Tour" in Beijing, the School of Journalism visited the Xinhua News Agency Historical Exhibition Hall and conducted live activities in the form of guided tours and interactive activities for teachers and students. Professor Hu Baijing, Executive Dean of the School of Journalism, Professor Zhou Yong, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Mr. Sun Quan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, participated in the event, which was co-hosted by Professor Deng Shaogan, Director of the Marxist View of Journalism Research Center, and Fu Guanlan, docent of the Xinhua News Agency History Exhibition Hall. Following the trajectory of the history of the Chinese Communist Party's journalism career in the exhibition hall, students and teachers of the School of Journalism focused on the topics of "The heavy responsibility - journalists in the fires of war", "Don't forget the people - the role model of the county party secretary", and "The role model of the county party secretary". -The Birth of "Jiao Yulu, the Role Model of County Party Secretaries", "Connecting China and Foreign Countries, Communicating with the World, Communicating and Blending with Good Voices", "Technology Traction, Integration and The second classroom teaching was vividly conducted on four themes: "Connecting China and the world, communicating with the world, communicating and making a good voice", "Technology pulling, integration and communication leaping to a new level".

Journalism students at the event also shared their thoughts. Zhou Xiaohui, a doctoral student, expressed the determination of journalism students to use media integration technology to stand at the forefront of news communication by combining his new media practice with the public platform "No.1 Post"; Xiao Ai, an artificial intelligence robot of Xinhua News Agency, also appeared in the live broadcast, and the dialogue and interaction with teachers and students showed the current artificial intelligence. The dialogue and interaction with the students and teachers showed the development potential of artificial intelligence and deep learning technology. The live class combined a strong tradition with cutting-edge technology, allowing students to reflect on history and look into the future with a strong sense of presence, and promoting an all-round upgrade of Marxist journalism education.

The nine journalism and communication colleges chose their sites based on the unique historical and cultural resources of their locations, which together formed the complete historical context of the "Roots Tour" visit. The College of Communication of East China Normal University took Shanghai, the birthplace of the CPC, as its starting point, and visited the site of the First Congress of the Communist Party of China and the former site of the editorial office of "LA JEUNESSE"; representatives of teachers and students of the School of Journalism and Communication of Nanchang University at Ruijin station visited the former site of Xinhua news agency, the former site of Hongzhong news agency, Red China news radio station and the former site of the Chinese Soviet Provisional Central Government; and at the Zunyi Station, teachers and students from the College of Literature and Media of Guizhou University used the practice of managing the Red Star newspaper as the main clue to tell the red story of Guizhou at the site of the Zunyi Conference and the former site of the General Political Department of the Red Army; Yan'an is the revolutionary holy land of the Communist Party of China, and also the starting point for the Communist Party of China to establish journalism education. The fourth and eighth stops of the activity were held in Yan'an. In Qingliangshan, Yan'an, the former site of Xinhua news agency and Jiefang Daily, the teachers and students of the School of Literature and Journalism and Communication of Yan'an University pay homage to the original intention and mission of the Communist Party of China's journalism. In the former site of Shanbei Public School, the School of Journalism and Communication of Northwest University of Political Science and Law traces back the glorious course and source of strength of the Communist Party of China's higher journalism education In Chongqing station and Xi'an station, teachers and students from the School of Journalism and Communication of Southwest University of Political Science and Law and the School of Journalism and Communication of Shaanxi Normal University respectively visited the former site of Xinhua daily and the memorial hall of Xi'an Office of the Eighth Route Army to review the ideal of revolutionary youth; while in Hebei University, teachers and students from the school of Journalism and communication visited the former site of Xinhua daily and the memorial hall of Xi'an Office of the Eighth Route Army to review the ideal of revolutionary youth With the theme of "catching up with the exam", the author gives a vivid historical narration in the editorial office of Xinhua news agency in Xibaipo.

At the end of the event, Professor Deng Shaogan summarized the live broadcast. He said that the live relay of the ten journalism and communication schools in China in the cloud is not only a retrospective and testimony at an important historical point, but also an inheritance and continuation of the spirit of red journalism.

As China's first higher journalism education institution founded by the Communist Party of China, the School of Journalism of Renmin University of China has always been guided by the Marxist concept of Journalism and committed to building a discipline system, academic system and discourse system of journalism and communication with Chinese characteristics. For a long time, it has been an important academic town of Marxist Journalism Research in China. The event, jointly sponsored by the college and nine sister colleges across the country, is another beneficial exploration of innovating the education mode of Marxist Journalism, and also an important attempt to promote and upgrade the education and teaching of Marxist Journalism jointly by the College of journalism of the National People's Congress and the sister colleges.
