The Center held an experience-sharing meeting on the key bases of the Ministry of Education's journalism disciplines
Author: Time:2019-08-29On the morning of August 28, the Research Center for Journalism and Social Development of Renmin University of China held a meeting on the work of the Ministry of Education's key research bases in the field of journalism and communication in the humanities and social sciences. Professor Cai Wen, Director of the Center, Professor Huang Dan, Director of the Information and Communication Research Center of Fudan University, Professor Shan Bo, Director of the Centerfor Studiesof Media Development of Wuhan University, Associate Professor Xiao Jun, Deputy Directorof the Centerfor Studiesof Media Development of Wuhan University, and Professor Sui Yan, Director of the National Research Center for Communication Innovation studies of Communication University of China attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by the Executive Director of the Center, Professor Wang Runze.
As the only four major research bases of the Ministry of Education in the field of journalism and communication in the humanities and social sciences, they have gradually developed their own academic focus on innovative areas and characteristics since their establishment. During the meeting, the directors of the bases introduced the development and experience of their bases during the "13th Five-Year Plan", and exchanged the actual problems faced by the development of the bases at present, and had an in-depth discussion on how the bases can better serve the construction of disciplines and serve society.
The meeting concluded that the current development of the four bases has been very fruitful and distinctive.The bases proposed that, in the context of the current social transformation, national renaissance, globalization, Internet revolution, media integration and "double first-class" construction, they should explore mechanisms for joint development, focus on the core issues of the discipline, give full play to their respective strengths, optimize resource allocation, promote exchanges and cooperation among the bases of the discipline, and play their role as leading models and coordinating innovation in the field of news communication research, thereby promoting the progress and development of the entire discipline.
In the end, Professor Cai Wen, Director of the Center, thanked all the guests for their sincere exchange and thought that this meeting had discussed the joint interaction and coordinated development mechanism among the four bases, and provided a kind of thinking for the development of the bases afterwards, and hoped that all of us would keep in touch, communicate more, have the opportunity to visit each other, exchange experience and make up for our shortcomings.
