As a Chinese citizen, when lasting draught exposed the lakebed and riverbed of ever-blue waters, when unexpected Storm turned busy cities into an underwater world all in a sudden, when ferocious sandstorm blocked people walking, when thick pollutant fog hold the ground and made people difficult to breathe, who is exempt from the impact of climate change, and who can say climate change is unrelated to his/herself?

As an earth citizen, who are willing to witness the gradual melting of Antarctic icebergs and Arctic glaciers, the submergence of Venice and Malta in the sea, the decimation of tropical rain forest in both hemispheres, and the frequent alternation of El Nino and La Nina effects? When climate change is quite probably turning all these true in not so far future, who can feel totally uninvolved, and who can say there is no need to take actions?

Our government is making efforts. Two years after the 21st Century Agenda was approved in the 1992 UN Environment and Development Conference, Chinese government made its solemn promise in implementing this document; In Copenhagen, in Kanqun, in Delban, as a responsible developing country, besides its dedication to economic and social development, China is dedicating itself to play its own active role in the global joint action reacting to the climate change.

Reacting to the climate change requires not only policy promotion in the government level, but also requires joint effort by the academia, all kinds of social organizations and the media, as well as public attention and participation. Only when more and more people dedicate themselves to the reaction and adaptation to climate change with their personal practice, shall every effort be meaningful. Reacting to the climate change, every once can speak loudly with his or her voice: here is me, here are us!

Hence, we solemnly propose:

First,  pay attention to the impact of climate change. Pay attention to the impact of climate change on our life and production, as well as on both urban inhabitants and rural regions.

Second, spread knowledge of climate change.  Educate family members, classmates, friends and colleagues on the knowledge of climate change and reacting measures, so as to make more people understand climate change.

Thirdly, participate climate change reaction. Be aware to protect the environment, save resources, and actively practice low-carbon lifestyle.

Climate change matters to you and me; Take active action, and pursue a bright future.

Reacting to climate change, let us act together! Let us start from us, from now, from trifling things around us, practice green lifestyle, and construct a beautiful environment for you and me, for our offsprings, for both today and the future.
