China Climate Communication Project Central Advisory Committee Founded and Held Its First Meeting In Renmin University
作者: 时间:2012-06-03On June 2nd 2012, China Climate Communication Project Central Advisory Committee held its founding ceremony and first meeting.
The Advisory Committee has three directors: National Political Council Foreign Affairs Committee Director Zhao Qizheng, National Development and Reform Committee Vice Director Xie Zhenhua, President of Renmin University Chen Yulun. Its advisor body include Ma Shengrong (former deputy director of Xinhua News Agency), Su Wei (National Development and Reform Committee Climate Change Bureau Director), He Jiankun (National Climate Change Expert Committee Deputy Director and former Standing Vice President of Tsinghua University), Chi Fulin (China(Haihan) Reform and Development Institute Director), Wen Bugao (National Development and Reform Committee News Office Director), Zou Ji (National Climate Change Reaction Strategy Research and International Cooperation Center Deputy Director), Sun Xuebing (Policy Coordination Director of Oxfam Hong Kong), Anthony Leiserowitz (Climate Communication Project Director and Environment and Forest School Professor), Alex Kirby ( UN Environmental Journalist Training Chief Expert and BBC veteran journalist), Danice ( Swedish 21st Century New Frontier Superviser and UN Policy Counseling Expert).
In the first meeting held in the morning, Director Zheng Baowei reported to advisors on the work updates of the Project Center after its establishment, with an emphasis on the plan of carrying out the Climate Change and Climate Communication "Enter Communities, Enter Campuses, Enter Countryside, Enter Enterprises" Action, and consulted on their opinion and advices. Advisers provided their own advices and proposals on the work of the Project Center, especially on how to conduct public investigation, how to promote "Four Enters" action etc.
China Climate Communication Project Center was founded jointly by RUC Journalism and Social Development Research Center and Oxfam in 2010, and is the first research institute in China aimed at studying climate change and climate communication theories and practices.
After its foundation, with the action objective being active seeking solution to the climate change issue, the Project Center is dedicated to strategic research on climate communication theories and practices. In the international level, the Project Center with the help of media has provided communication and cooperation platform for China's government, media and NGOs, so that they can work together to create a positive and active international image of China. In the domestic level, from the perspective of climate communication, the Project Center promote the public's understanding of climate change, promote actions reacting and adapting to climate change, promoting implementation of related climate change and climate communication policies. The foundation of the Advisory Committee will provide consultation and guidance for research strategy and project implementation of the Project Center, so that it will become a research institute more powerful in international and domestic investigation, action-taking and influence exertion.
The director of the Project Center is Professor Zheng Baowei, Director of RUC Journalism and Social Development Research Center.
