Professor Zheng visits Yale
作者: 时间:2012-04-08Professor Zheng Baowei, director of Research Center of Journalism and Social Development and the Project of China Climate Communication, and Ms Wang Binbin, executive director of the project and communication manager of Oxfam, were invited to visit Yale University On April 2 and 3. They discussedscientific research cooperation with Professor Anthony from Forestry and Environment School at Yale, director of the Project Center for Climate Change Communication, as well as its deputy director Ms. Lisa.
Since the Project Center for Climate Change Communication at Yale has been an initiative in launching research on climate change communication among the universities in USA, much experience has accumulated on such aspects as conducting investigation on public awareness of climate change and popularizing information of climate change.
During the conversation, the two sides respectively introduced the practices and experience in the study of climate change communication in recent years, as well as the future research directions and ideas, focusing on discussing the issues on carrying out scientific research exchanges and cooperation. Associate professor Zhao Xiaoquan, a researcher from the Center for Climate Change Communication, George Mason University was also invited to attend the meeting and introduced the research circumstance of the center.
After negotiation, the two sides reached a consensus on issues of conducting exchanges and cooperation in the research field of climate change communication, achieving cooperation intention. At the same time, they also had thorough discussion and consultation on details of conducting investigations on the public awareness of climate change and climate communication. Li Yujie, a doctoral student from RUC and a member of the Project of China Climate Change Communication, was then visiting Forestry and Environment School, Yale. She also attended the discussion and consultation.
During the visit, Professor Zheng and his companies visited the campus and exchanged their opinions with teachers and students from the Project Center for Climate Change Communication and Forestry and Environment School, and also had a conversation with head of the Yale - China Association.
